Shortly before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, another wildfire ignited in Boulder County. This followed the Stone Canyon Fire that began the day before and the Alexander Mountain Fire, which started two days earlier in Larimer County. The Alexander Mountain Fire and the Quarry Fire in Jefferson County continue to burn.
Mandatory evacuations were ordered for the Lake Shore Fire, which destroyed two structures. Evacuations initially expanded west toward Nederland but were later lifted. The fire burned approximately six acres and appears to have started on private land.
As of midday on Aug. 2, the fire was fully contained, all evacuations were lifted, and all roads reopened.

It’s never going to rain again.
Way to be positive Mike, like we don’t have enough negativity already.
can your announcements include maps and be specific about which neighborhoods, surrounding streets are involved. I don’t know where the places are located that are mentioned in your announcement
For any information about evacuations, which is a fluid situation, best to visit the county’s live map: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/e4a2796d128d45c38a8ce902462ade12
Most importantly, if you’re not signed up for emergency updates, do the following:
• Sign up for Everbridge to receive evacuation alerts. https://member.everbridge.net/453003085612231/new
• Download the ReachWell app for countywide alerts. Sign up for the BOCOalert and BOCOinfo channels. ReachWell can translate messages into various languages.
• Text BOCOinfo to 888777 for regular updates from Boulder’s emergency services.
Gross water also makes up a portion of Louisville’s freshwater raw water intake.
I work east of Boulder and just driving home around 4:30 I could see a faint plume of dark smoke coming from the area I suspect this fire is burning near. Around 4:15 I saw a C-130 aerial tanker flying west over Louisville and it appeared to be setting up for an approach on the Lakeshore burn. Don’t believe it was in the pattern for the airport (Broomfield), so hopefully there are enough aerial resources to go around! Clouds and cooler temps forecast for early next week – fingers crossed!!!!
going to turn my sprinklers on
