One consequence of losing local newspapers is the loss of a vital public service: obituaries. Nowhere in Boulder County offers free obituary publishing to memorialize loved ones, announce a loss and celebrate their lives.
Boulder Reporting Lab is bringing back this public service for all current and former Boulder-area residents. We’re offering it for free as part of our mission to foster community connection and provide a way to honor loved ones. Since we have no paywall and our work is free for all to access, obituaries can be shared and read by anyone, anywhere, at no cost. To submit an obituary, use the form on this page.
Obituaries may be submitted by a surviving family member or a funeral home.
While Boulder Reporting Lab typically will not edit submitted obituaries, we reserve the right to correct grammar or spelling and make minor editorial changes. We also reserve the right to decide whether to publish a submitted obituary.
For questions about obituaries, please email: community@boulderreportinglab.org.
Boulder Reporting Lab is a nonprofit news organization, and donations are greatly appreciated to help support this public service alongside our independent journalism.
