On Friday, March 22, marking the third year since the mass shooting that claimed 10 lives in Boulder, including a Boulder police officer, the city commemorated the lives lost in the horrific incident.

The memorial service, the Boulder Strong Day of Remembrance, was organized by the City of Boulder and local partners. Held at eTown Hall, the emotional event brought the community together to remember the victims and reflect on the impact of the tragedy. Tralona Bartkowiak, 49; Suzanne Fountain, 59; Kevin Mahoney, 61; Lynn Murray, 62; Rikki Olds, 25; Denny Stong, 20; Neven Stanisic, 23; Boulder police officer Eric Talley, 51; Teri Leiker, 51; and Jody Waters, 65, were honored.

“I’m standing here tonight to tell you that your city will never forget the friends and family that we lost three years ago,” Pam Davis, assistant city manager, said as she opened the memorial event. “The memory of that day and of those incredible people is fresh and we grieve every life lost and we strive to support one another and its aftermath in recognition of why we are here tonight.”
