David Martus is a first-time candidate for Boulder City Council.
Martus works as a senior adviser at Upwelling Capital Group, where he manages large investments. He previously held positions at several investment firms, most recently GSSG Solar, a renewable energy investment manager, according to his LinkedIn.
In a 2021 op-ed, Martus opposed the CU South project. He has also sought appointments to local advisory boards. He was nominated for the city’s Transportation Advisory Board in 2020 but was not appointed. In 2025, he applied unsuccessfully to join the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee.
Martus moved to Boulder in 1985 to attend CU and has lived in Boulder for 40 years.
